Time sure flies when you’re having fun! Flash fiction story number 100 today. Just 200 to go…
Are you guys enjoying the stories so far? Which one’s your favourite? And are there any genres you prefer? Or a type of story you’d like to see me try my hand at? Let me know in the comments!
Yes, I enjoy them very much – although once in a while I don’t understand the reference in the story (say 1 in 27ish). That’s my problem not yours; I’m not that well read. I would like you to try a fable one day: a la Aesop – perhaps. (But don’t let the raven fuck the fox).
A fable is in the pipeline. Look out for it around the 115-mark…
(Fuck!) I’m only 8 ahead!
Absolutely enjoying your stories – and a little in awe of your success thus far! Looking forward to the next 200!
I too am completely in awe- I think your short stories are incredible. I always tear through them greedily, looking forward to the twist at the end. You’re extremely talented.
It’s comments like these that make this 300 story challenge so much easier. Thank you so much for the kind words.
I’ve enjoyed every single one of your stories thus far. You’re so talented and obviously well organised to be able to keep this up every day! When I first started following your blog, I took the entire day to go back and read every single one of your stories. If I was forced to choose a favourite, it would probably be one of your most recent ones – number 95. The difference in appearance was so striking. I really didn’t see the end to that one coming at all and I loved it.
Always try to guess the ending. Almost always wrong!

Congrats Dieter. I think, not counting re-blogs, I’m at 100 as well. As is http://thingsmyexsaid.com/ Funny, the synchronicity. Keep up the good work.

Found your stories today, they are fantastic! I’m spending the AM hours reading them instead of doing my work. A hallmark of a good story (or stories) – you can’t stop reading it…

(PS – thanks for the like on mine.)
I look forward to reading these stories. I kind of let them pile up and read a few at a time :). My very favourites have been #58 “Send in the Pussy Whisperers” and #38 “As If” (which I must remember to pass on to someone who reminds me of the girl in that story!)
Btw, I don’t think you’ll be able to stop when you get to the 300 mark!
Oh, and could you add a widget with a list of all your posts. It would be easier for us to access the older stories…thanks!
I’ve added a story archive to the menu, Belle.
On behalf of all your fans, I thank you 🙂
The ones with the psychological insight into the character’s mind really stand out. No 96 (the alcoholic), No 88 (the obnoxious wine critic) and 73 (the toddler) were some of the best, IMO. I enjoy the tales set in hell too and Tammy and the ghosts was downright scary! My top 3 are the grim reaper in love (81), the art deco building above the city (54) and the apocalyptic music festival.
Your stories always come through on my email at 4-5pm my time, just when I need a pick-me-up 🙂
Try a style done in the old fairy tale/aesop’s fables 🙂
